With the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the past few days, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Meidcine,has been invited by overseas medical institutions and government authorities to share its' successful experience in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the hospital launched free online medical consultation services around the world and made every effort to provide supporting materials. A large number of doctors spontaneously offered point-to-point overseas assistance.
“As an international hospital and being in a global community with shared future, we have a responsibility to share the prevention and treatment experience explored by the hospital with medical peers in the world”, said by CAI Xiujun, president of SRRSH.
On the morning of April 2nd, two consecutive hard core transoceanic webinars were carried out at the International Telemedicine Center of SRRSH Qingchun Campus. Before this connection, SRRSH has shared the Chinese Solution with 47 global members of Mayo Clinic Care Network. This time SRRSH also presented the SRRSH Experience from Zhejiang China to the Loma Linda University Health in the United States and the University of Sydney in Australia.
During the two transoceanic webinars, SRRSH leaders shared the hospital’s experience in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 epidemic. They were Mr. Huang Xin, executive vice president and vice party secretary, Dr. Yu Yunsong, vice president of research, Dr. Pan Hongming, vice president of medical administration and Ms. Zhuang Yiyu, vice president of nursing.
It is worth mentioning that SRRSH experts of medical support team for Hubei province also actively participated in the webinar. They had just successfully completed the important task in the front line of Hubei. Mr. Liu Limin, party secretary and vice president of SRRSH, and Dr. Yu Hong, vice president of SRRSH Xiasha Campus, respectively acting as the leader of medical support teams in Jingmen and in Wuhan, shared the first-line treatment experience.
At the end of the webinar, Dr. Richard Hart, president of Loma Linda University expressed his sincere gratitude. He said that the professional knowledge and experience shared by SRRSH team are very impressive, and SRRSH has been very successful in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.
Ms. Katherine Beloved, pro-vice-chancellor of global engagement at the University of Sydney, said that she was very grateful to Zhejiang University for organizing this webinar, and expressed special thanks to SRRSH for sharing the experience of prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Currently Australia is in the early stages of the pandemic. SRRSH and Zhejiang University’s experience in this regard is very helpful to them.
