In 1996, the phakia intraocular lens (Visian ICL) were firstly implanted in Asia by Dr Ye Shen and relative researches were also underwent at the First Affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University. In 2011, Dr Chixin Du and Yangshun Gu investigate changes in anterior chamber depth (ACD) and the distance between the Visian implantable Collamer lens (ICL) and the crystalline lens during pilocarpine induced accommodation in thirty-three phakic eyes of 18 high myopic patients. During pharmacologic accommodation, the ICL and the crystalline lens came closer as the ICL was pushed backward by the iris as a result of pupillary constriction. Simultaneously, the anterior surface of the crystalline lens became more convex and moved forward. The result of this study was helpful to design the advanced ICL and to prevent the long-term complications in clinic. So, it was published in Ophthalmology.
